Presiding Member’s Statement - Karen Burns
As Board Chair, I lead the Board of Trustees in Board governance processes and work closely with Louise our Principal to understand the day-to-day work involved in leading a complex specialist school such as Oaklynn.
I am very committed to the role and I enjoy giving my time, knowledge and energy to help with all areas of governance.
Being on the board is very rewarding, as you quickly learn how much goes on ‘behind the scenes’ in running a busy school.
It’s a privilege and an honour to be on the board and it’s a position that I highly regard. I feel this is my way of giving back to the school. I am very proud to serve and be part of the Oaklynn community.
