The Auckland mayoral office has announced three additional Civil Defence Centres, one in West Auckland and two on the North Shore.

"These are places to seek refuge from the storm if your life is in danger or your property is flooded," a spokesperson said.

The additional locations are:

* The Trusts Arena 65-67 Central Park Drive CDC: stretcher beds, blankets, food, water, welfare support agencies, psychosocial support

Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre 159 Brightside Road CDC: stretcher beds, blankets, food, water, welfare support agencies, psychosocial support

AUT Millennium 17 Antares Place CDC: stretcher beds, blankets, food, water, welfare support agencies, psychosocial support
